Brookdale Wins Back To Back In Spring Training Games

Leesburg, FL - The Brookdale baseball team won their first two games in their Florida spring training debut on Sunday against Southern Maine Community College, 7-6 and Lakeland Community College, 15-4.

In game one, sophomore third baseman Brian Rodriguez went two for three with a triple, sophomore outfielder Joseph Piscopo hit two for two with a double and then smacked a two-run home run, as freshman catcher Jay Marchese had a solid two for four, including a double as well.

As for game two, Rodriguez had a strong bat once again going three for four with a double and a three-run home run, tallying six RBI's. Other hot bats included freshman infielder Nicholas Carnevale going two for three with a home run, and sophomore centerfielder Marco Meleo hitting two for two with two RBI's. Also, freshman pitcher Jordan Winston(1-0) got the win on the mound pitching three innings, earning five strikeouts, and allowed three runs. 

The Jersey Blues will meet the Schenectady County Community College Royals in a doubleheader on Monday, March 12th.
