Baseball Advances To Final Four In Midnight Hour

Bel Air, MD- The Brookdale baseball team swept the Cougars of Camden County College in two nine-inning games played at Harford Community College, 12-7 and 16-8 to advance to the final four of the Region XIX tournament.

In game one, freshman second baseman Nicholas Carnevale, sophomore third baseman Brian Rodriguez and sophomore left-fielder Cole Hardy each posted doubles while sophomore right-fielder Nick Minter crushed a three-run homer. Freshman left-handed pitcher Justin Fall hurled to 29 Cougar batters and notched eight strikeouts while giving up eight hits.

After a brief weather delay, the Blues took control in game two. Carnevale stayed consistent and added two more doubles, one triple and three RBI's while sophomore designated hitter Joseph Piscopo added one double and two RBI's. Sophomore first baseman Trevor Romeo crushed two doubles as Hardy ripped a home run.
 
With the series victory, the Blues will next face the winner of Northampton / Bergen in the final four of the tournament. Day, time and location are TBD.
