Baseball Splits With Stevenson University And Battles To Defeat Rollins College

Lake Myrtle, FL - The Brookdale baseball team split their first two games to the Mustangs of Stevenson University, losing 12-2 and coming back with a win of 6-2.

In game one, freshman outfielder Bradley Brush led the team in hits going 2 for 3 with a double while freshman infielder Keith Apostolos put up 1 out of the 2 RBI's for the Brookdale Blues. In the field, freshman infielder Matt Granato and sophomore shortstop Ryan O'Sullivan had quite a day totaling three double plays.

In game two, freshman right handed pitcher AJ Rizzi pitched a total of three innings for the Jersey Blues, allowing no earned runs and a total of four strikeouts. Freshman outfielder TJ Scuderi completed his game going 2 for 4 with a double, RBI and a stolen base. Freshman infielder Keith Apostolos went 2 for 3 and posted two RBI's while freshman right fielder Bradley Brush went 1 for 2 adding in a run scored and an RBI for the Jersey Blues.

As the Blues wrapped up their third game against the Tars of Rollins College, 7-6, sophomore right handed pitcher William Kramer and sophomore left handed pitcher Justin Tucker split the game leading the team to victory.

In the heated battle against the Tars, sophomore outfielder Connor Kolich hit a triple while sophomore catcher Joshua Jackson and sophomore infielder Ben Porpora put up a double each. Sophomore infielder Ryan Ruziecki, freshman outfielder TJ Scuderi, freshman outfielder Bradley Brush, freshman third baseman Jeff Massicotte and freshman outfielder Willie Speller accumulated a total of 5 RBI's to help the Jersey Blues triumph over the Tars.
