Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues men's basketball team is certainly quick, almost too quick for themselves at times. The Roadrunners of Rowan College at Gloucester County kept up with the Blues in the first half and were within two baskets at one point. Brookdale chipped away on offense and maintained a solid lead for the remainder of the game, winning 89-72 in a key Garden State Athletic Conference game Tuesday night.
The NJCAA Division III number one ranked Blues just wore the Roadrunners down with not only quickness, but had six players score in double figures. Sophomore guard/forward, Grant Goode led the team with 25 points followed by Sophomore forward, Matthew Ringel with 13, and Sophomore guard Jaimik Moore earned 12. In addition, Freshman point guard, Tarique Holmes had 12 points, eight assists and five steals, as Freshman guard Kenneth LaRocca trailed with 10 points.
Currently undefeated at 18-0, Brookdale travels to New England for the weekend to play Bunker Hill Community College in Boston, MA on Saturday at 1:00pm. On Sunday at 2:00pm, the Blues will face the University of Connecticut at Avery Point.
