Turnovers Proved To Be Too Many In Brookdale Home Opener Loss

Lincroft, NJ - In front of a hearty crowd at the Robert J. Collins Arena, the Jersey Blues men played with good tempo and heart against the Cougars of Camden County College. The turnovers in the last two minutes of the game were a deciding factor and closed out the night with a biting 80-78 loss in Brookdale's home opener.

The Blues led by five points for most of the second half with the help of freshman guard Jelani Carter's three-point hits, totaling him for 23 points and eight rebounds total. Freshman guard Deondre Smith threw in 14 points as his fellow freshman guard teammate Ian Felix also dropped double-digits with 11 points and five assists.

The Jersey blues (0-1) will travel to Paramus, NJ next Tuesday, November 12th, to face the Bergen Community College Bulldogs.
