Lincroft, NJ - With a bit of a change in the lineup and defense strategy, the Ocean County College Vikings blundered as the Jersey Blues came away with the win Tuesday night, 81-77.
Despite the turnovers and Ocean's superior outside shooting, the Blues were able to adjust and return in full force from a four point deficit at the end of the first half. The different combinations of players, clutch shots, and adjusted defense allowed for Brookdale to go ahead in the second half (45-37), to ultimately secure the win.
Leading the pack in scoring was freshman guard Allen Ozojie with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals. Freshman guard Deondre Smith followed Ozojie's lead with 12 points, eight assists, and four steals. Two additional guards, freshman Beyon Wilson and sophomore David Calloway each supplied 10 and 11 points to close out the night.
The Brookdale men (3-5) will head down to Rowan College South Jersey Gloucester to slow down and capture the Roadrunners (2-11) for another win.
