Jersey Blues Split With Lehigh Carbon; Alyssa Vetrano Smokes Three-Run Homer

Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues softball squad split with the Cougars of Lehigh Carbon Community College in Region XIX play. Freshman shortstop Alyssa Vetrano smoked a three-run homer in the sixth inning of game one to push Brookdale to victory, 6-0.

Sophomore outfielder Tori Lucarelli and sophomore shortstop Alyssa Raimondo each posted solo home runs while sophomore second baseman Elizabeth Dorsa connected for an RBI double. Sophomore pitcher Jessica Pszeniczny tallied her ninth win of the season and her second shutout in a row.

In game two, the team was topped by Lehigh Carbon, 3-2. Dorsa's bat stayed hot as she posted three more hits and freshman third baseman Shakyra Moore launched a solo home run, making it her 8th of the season.

Brookdale will return to action on Tuesday, April 9th at home to take on the Vikings of Ocean County College at 3:30pm.
