Softball Takes Down Cumberland Dukes Back To Back In Five Innings

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale softball squad took down the Dukes of Cumberland County College in five-innings, 9-1 and 9-1.Freshman third baseman Shakyra Moore crushed her 18th home run of the season. Moore now holds the Jersey Blues record for most home runs hit in one season.

In game one, Moore posted two home runs, one scarifice fly and three RBI's while sophomore second baseman Elizabeth Dorsa went 3-3 and knocked in two runs. Freshman outfielder Felicia Kuegler launched a solo home run and one triple as sophomore righty Jessica Pszeniczny pitched her 13th win.

Kuegler stayed hot in the batter's box in game two as she recorded two more hits and two RBI's while freshman pitcher Katy McGovern notched her 11th win from the mound.

With the win, the team improves to 27-8 and will next take on the Titans of County College of Morris on the road on Saturday, April 20th at noon.
