Mercer Vikings Triumphant In Final Seconds Over Blues Women

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale women worked hard to keep their match-up against the Division II Mercer County Community College Vikings at bay, but the Vikings dominated the last few seconds of the game for their 53-49 win.

It was not until the final five minutes of the third quarter that the Blues attempted to turn their fate around and took their first lead of the game. The game went back and forth until the last 17.9 seconds in the fourth quarter when Mercer found a late groove, taking the lead 49-51 and making both final shots at the foul line to gain the win.

Sophomore forward, Anna Catanzaro, chalked up her second double-double of the season with 11 points and 18 rebounds. Freshman guard Teyonce Wilson added 10 points for Brookdale.

The Jersey Blues will host their final game of the semester on Thursday, December 19th @ 5:00pm vs the Sussex Skylanders (4-5) in the Robert J. Collins Arena.
