Manalapan, NJ - The Jersey Blues women's soccer team passed their way to a 3-1 victory against the Lions of Nassau Community College.

The team capitalized on two penalty kicks that were awarded after Nassau collected two defensive hand balls in the box. Sophomore forward Jenna Karabin and freshman midfielder Alexa Hansen found the back of the net from the pk-line to put Brookdale ahead, 2-1 after the first half.

In the second half, the Blues continued to maintain possession, connecting multiple two to three pass combinations that resulted in great offensive attempts at the net. In the 54th minute, freshman midfielder Kailie Benko feathered a pass to the feet of freshman forward Jada Trotta, who chipped the keeper to notch the third and final goal of the game.

Freshman goalkeeper Noelle Gibbons grabbed 13 saves as freshman sweeper Emily Clayton, sophomore stopper Dayna Van Pelt, sophomore defender Rebecca Gorenstein, sophomore defender Alyssa Corrado and sophomore defender Nicole Puzo led a solid defensive effort.

With the win, the team rolls to 3-0-1 and will next take on the Roadrunners of Rowan College South Jersey - Gloucester at Capelli Sports Complex on Saturday, September 21st at noon.
