Lincroft, NJ — In a high-octane offensive battle, the Brookdale Community College baseball team outslugged the Camden County College Cougars, 18-14, on their home field to improve to 11-5 on the season.
Freshman first baseman Owen Parillo led the charge with a dominant 5-for-6 performance, ripping two doubles and driving in four runs to pace the offense. Sophomore third baseman Anthony Pizzuti delivered a clutch outing, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, while freshman left fielder Nicco Maribo added to the surge with a 4-for-6 effort that included a double and three RBI. Freshman catcher Ryan Adams contributed key extra-base hits, finishing 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI, and freshman shortstop Dawson Smail sparked momentum with a triple that brought in two runs.
On the mound, sophomore Gary Perone III secured the win, improving to a perfect 3-0 on the season, while sophomore Dylan Swanson closed the door to earn the save and preserve the hard-fought victory.
Brookdale will look to carry that momentum on the road as they open a three-game series against the Middlesex College Colts on Friday, March 27th at 3:30pm.
