Early Statement On The Road Lifts Jersey Blues Over Phantoms
Media, PA - Brookdale baseball opened their three-game series in strong fashion, defeating the Delaware County Community College Phantoms on the road, 9-2, in a full nine-inning contest.
Media, PA - Brookdale baseball opened their three-game series in strong fashion, defeating the Delaware County Community College Phantoms on the road, 9-2, in a full nine-inning contest.
Freshman shortstop Dawson Smail led the offensive charge, going 3-for-4 at the plate and blasting a home run to drive in four RBI, setting the tone for the Jersey Blues. Additional run support came from freshman first baseman Owen Parillo, who ripped a triple for an RBI, along with RBI contributions from freshman Thomas Diffley and sophomore third baseman Anthony Pizzuti.
On the mound, sophomore Jeffrey Barham delivered a dominant performance, tossing 6.0 innings while striking out eight and issuing no walks to earn the win. The victory improves Barham to 4-1 on the season.
Now 16-7 overall, the Jersey Blues will continue their series against the Phantoms at home on Saturday, April 4th, with first pitch scheduled for 12:00pm.
