The Blues Men Lose To The Middlesex Blue Colts In Overtime, 91-81

Edison, NJ - The Blues had a tough weekend coming off two straight conference losses on the road with their most recent against the Middlesex College Blue Colts in overtime.

The Blue Colts led at half-time, 34-33, in a tight back and forth exchange which continued until the final seconds of regular play. The Blues trailed by a basket until freshman guard, Kevin Mateo, got fouled and dropped all three foulshots to push the game into overtime. Unfortunately, Middlesex outscored the Blues, 18-8, in the overtime period, and won with a 91-81 final score. 

Mateo finished with 28 points and sophomore forward, Fres Cabrera, recorded 16 points and 15 rebounds. Freshman forward, Devin Strickland, also contributed 16 points.

Brookdale (17-3) will be back on their home court on Tuesday, February 8th, at 7:00pm, to play the Salem Community College Mighty Oaks.
