Brookdale Men Ruffle Up The Union Owls Feathers

Cranford, NJ - The undefeated Brookdale men's basketball team ruffled up the Union College Owl feathers in their 99-84 victory on the road. 

The gritty 6-6 Owls held their own, challenging the Blues up until the last eight minutes of the game. Brookdale finally took control of the game, shooting up to a 20 point lead at one point with the help from sophomore forward, Manny Bell, who led with 26 points. With strength under the boards and capturing double-doubles were sophomore forward/center, Darnell Askew, hitting for 23 points with 12 rebounds, and freshman forward, Savon Myers, who exploded for 22 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Freshman forward/center, Phillip Byrd,  gifted 13 points, and sophomore point guard, Kareem Irby, added four assists.

The 13-0 Jersey Blues will be headed to Paterson, NJ, to take on the Panthers of Passaic County Community College on Tuesday, January 16th, with a 7:00pm tip off.
