Brennen Fitzsimmons Enters 2016 Season As Head Men's Soccer Coach
Lincroft, NJ- Brennen Fitzsimmons has been named the head coach of the Jersey Blues men's soccer program. Previously, he was the assistant men's soccer coach at Rutgers-Newark.
Lincroft, NJ- Brennen Fitzsimmons has been named the head coach of the men's soccer program. Previously, he was the assistant men's soccer coach at Rutgers-Newark.
Fitzsimmons, who started in all 86 matches during his career at Richard Stockton College, was named the graduate intern for men's soccer in August of 2012 at Rutgers-Newark. He became the third graduate intern under head coach Kevin East.
The two-time All-NJAC second team pick (2009 & 2011), Fitzsimmons brings a keen knowledge of the game to the Jersey Blues program. He was named the 2008 NJAC Rookie of the Year and earned All-NJAC Honorable Mention after helping Stockton to an NCAA Championship Play-off berth while netting a team-high nine points on three goals and three assists. The Ospreys sandwiched ECAC Metro Championship bids (2009 & 2011) around another NCAA appearance in 2010 as Fitzsimmons contributed three goals in each of his four seasons, finishing his career with 30 points.
A Provost's Scholarship student, he received his bachelor of science degree in biology from Stockton. The two-time team captain was named to the NJAC All-Academic second team as a sophomore while making the Honorable Mention list in each of his other three seasons. He twice was named to Stockton's Student-Athlete award list for posting a 3.50 GPA with at least 24 hours passed during an academic year.
The Neptune native was a two-sport standout at Neptune High School in soccer and basketball. He was a two-year captain for the Fliers while earning four letters in soccer. He earned two letters in basketball while helping Neptune to a Shore Conference championship.
