Brookdale Opens Season With Grit In Doubleheader Battles Against Harford
Aberdeen, MD - The Brookdale Community College softball team opened its 2026 season with two tightly contested games but ultimately fell to the Division I Harford Community College Fighting Owls by scores of 10-5 and 7-5.

Aberdeen, MD - The Brookdale Community College softball team opened its 2026 season with two tightly contested games but ultimately fell to the Division I Harford Community College Fighting Owls by scores of 10-5 and 7-5.
In game one, freshman center fielder Sophia Lasater sparked the lineup with an impressive 2-for-3 performance, delivering both a double and a triple while driving in two runs. Freshman shortstop Adrianna Cruz added an RBI with a sharply hit double, and sophomore pitcher Jules Hart contributed an RBI single to keep Brookdale within reach through the middle innings.
The second game remained close throughout, ending in a 7-5 decision. Hart continued her productive day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Freshman third baseman Isabella Graci matched her with a 2-for-4 outing that included an RBI of her own. Cruz added another RBI on a solid single, while freshman catcher Alexa Cebulski brought in a run on a well-placed sacrifice fly.
Brookdale now turns its attention to its upcoming home matchup against the Division II Mercer County Community College Vikings on Thursday, March 5, with first pitch scheduled for 2:30 pm.
