Jersey Blues Heat Up In Game Two To Earn Split With Hudson Valley Vikings
Red Bank, NJ - The Brookdale Community College softball team split its doubleheader with the Hudson Valley Community College Vikings, falling 7-2 in the opener before bouncing back with an exciting 17-15 victory in game two.

Red Bank, NJ - The Brookdale Community College softball team split its doubleheader with the Hudson Valley Community College Vikings, falling 7-2 in the opener before bouncing back with an exciting 17-15 victory in game two.
Freshman center fielder Sophia Lasater led the way with a triple and two stolen bases, creating momentum on the basepaths. Freshman shortstop Adrianna Cruz also contributed at the plate with a double for Brookdale.
The Jersey Blues turned up the offense in game two, erupting for 17 runs in a back-and-forth contest that kept fans on edge throughout. Lasater had a standout performance, blasting a home run and adding a double while driving in four RBI. She also swiped two more bases to cap an outstanding day on the basepaths.
Freshman catcher Alexa Cebulski added three RBI to fuel the Brookdale offense, while sophomore second baseman Mya Bonilla, freshman third baseman Isabella Graci, and Cruz each delivered RBI singles during the high-scoring win. Sophomore pitcher Jadeyn Pavlik went the distance in the circle, striking out six batters over 7.0 innings to secure the victory.
With the split, the Jersey Blues move to 1-3 on the season. Brookdale will remain at home for its next matchup when the team hosts the Bergen Community College Bulldogs on Tuesday, March 10 at 3:30 p.m.
