Jersey Blues Dominate At The Diamond With Commanding Sweep Of Bulldogs

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Community College softball team delivered an explosive performance on its home field, sweeping the Bergen Community College Bulldogs in dominant fashion with victories of 15-0 and 9-1 to even its record at 3-3 on the season.

Freshman catcher Alexa Cebulski powered the Jersey Blues with a remarkable day at the plate, blasting two home runs and driving in seven runs to lead the rout. Fellow freshman Sophia Lasater also contributed in a big way going 2-for-2 with three RBI from the center field position, while freshman shortstop Adrianna Cruz added a strong effort of her own, batting 2-for-3 and bringing home two runs. 

In the circle, sophomore Jules Hart delivered a commanding performance. The right-hander tossed all five innings of the shutout, allowing just one hit while striking out nine Bergen batters to earn the win and improve to 1-2 on the season.

In game two, Brookdale again controlled the contest from start to finish. Sophomore Jadeyn Pavlik guided the Jersey Blues through five innings at the rubber in the 9-1 victory while also contributing offensively with two RBI at the plate. Hart continued to impact the game offensively as well, adding two RBI's. Sophomore second baseman Mya Bonilla and sophomore right fielder Emma Zazzarino each chipped in an RBI to secure the doubleheader sweep.

With the pair of wins, Brookdale moves to 3-3 overall and will now shift its focus to conference play on the road. The Jersey Blues travel to Vineland, New Jersey next to face the RCSJ-Cumberland Dukes on Saturday, March 14 at 12:00 p.m. as they look to carry their momentum into another key matchup.
