Lincroft, NJ – The Brookdale Community College softball team continued its dominant stretch at home, sweeping the Finger Lakes Community College Lakers in an out-of-conference doubleheader, 12-1 and 16-5.
In game one, the Jersey Blues showcased a powerful and efficient offensive performance behind sophomore pitcher Jules Hart, who delivered a standout day both at the plate and in the circle. Hart went 3-for-4 with a triple and a double, driving in four RBI to lead the charge. Freshman catcher Alexa Cebulski added to the momentum, batting 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.
Sophomore right fielder Emma Zazzarino and freshman shortstop Adrianna Cruz each turned in perfect performances at the plate, both going 3-for-3 with an RBI. Freshman left fielder Katelyn Hernandez contributed an RBI single to round out the scoring effort.
In the circle, Hart was just as dominant, tossing 5.0 innings while striking out seven batters. The milestone moment came during her outing as she recorded her 200th career strikeout as a Jersey Blue, while also improving her record to 5-2 on the season.
Brookdale carried that momentum into game two, where the offense once again proved overwhelming in a 16-5 victory. Zazzarino continued her hot streak, going 2-for-2 with two triples and four RBI to pace the Blues.
Cruz remained a key contributor, batting 2-for-2 with two doubles and three RBI, while Cebulski added a 2-for-3 performance with a double and two RBI. Freshman first baseman Sophia Lasater was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Additional contributions came from freshman third baseman Isabella Graci, sophomore second baseman Mya Bonilla, and sophomore pitcher Jadeyn Pavlik, who each added an RBI to the balanced offensive attack.
Pavlik took care of business in the circle, earning the win to improve to 6-1 on the season and securing the doubleheader sweep for Brookdale.
Now 11-3 overall, the Jersey Blues will return to their home field once again as they prepare to host the DII Mercer County Community College Mustangs on Thursday, March 26th, with first pitch set for 3:30pm.
