In game one, the Jersey Blues wasted no time setting the tone, combining timely hitting with lockdown pitching to secure the shutout victory. Freshman left fielder Sophia Costa sparked the offense with an RBI triple, while sophomore right fielder Emma Zazzarino added an RBI single to keep the momentum rolling. In the circle, sophomore Jules Hart was in complete command. The right-hander allowed just two hits across 5.0 innings, striking out six while issuing only one walk. Hart's poise and precision kept the Colts off balance throughout, earning her the win and improving her record to 6-3.
Game two saw the Jersey Blues' offense reach another level, piling on runs behind an explosive lineup effort. Freshman first baseman Sophia Lasater led the charge with a standout performance, blasting a home run and a triple while driving in five runs.
Freshman catcher Alexa Cebulski delivered a flawless outing at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Freshman center fielder Adrianna Cruz matched that effort, also going 4-for-4, highlighted by an RBI triple. Sophomore shortstop Jules Hart continued her strong day with a 2-for-3 performance that included an RBI triple, while sophomore pitcher Jadeyn Pavlik contributed an RBI single. Pavlik was equally impressive in the circle, tossing all 5.0 innings in the 15-4 victory. The sophomore improved to 7-2 on the season, maintaining control throughout to secure the sweep.
With the pair of wins, the Jersey Blues continue to build momentum as they head into their next matchup. Brookdale will return to their home field on Sunday, March 29th, when they host the Suffolk County College Sharks for another doubleheader beginning at 12:00pm.
