In game one, sophomore right fielder Emma Zazzarino led the offense with an RBI triple, while sophomore third baseman Jadeyn Pavlik added an RBI double. Additional RBI came from sophomore pitcher Jules Hart, freshman shortstop Adrianna Cruz, and freshman left fielder Sophia Costa.
Hart was outstanding in the circle, improving to 17-6 after pitching 7.0 strong innings with eight strikeouts while allowing just three hits.
The Jersey Blues exploded offensively in game two to complete the sweep. Pavlik paced the lineup, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI. Freshman third baseman Isabella Graci added a 3-for-4 performance with a triple and two RBI. Freshman first baseman Sophia Lasater delivered a two RBI double, while Zazzarino stayed perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBI.
Cruz turned in a standout showing, going 5-for-5 with three doubles, a triple, and an RBI as Brookdale overwhelmed the Spartans. In the circle, Pavlik also delivered a strong performance, working hard over 5.0 innings to earn the win and improve her record to 15-6 on the season.
With the sweep, the Jersey Blues earned the No. 2 seed in the NJCAA Region 19 Tournament and will face the No. 3 seeded Northampton Spartans again on Saturday, May 9th at 12:00pm at Middlesex College.
