Brookdale Releases Fall Meeting, Tryout and First Practice Dates; Fall Schedules Also Posted

The Brookdale Community College athletics department released its fall schedules along with meeting, tryout and first practice dates. 

Headlining the programs is reigning National champions, women's soccer.  The Jersey Blues will host nine matches on the pitch of the Brookdale Community College field – including first-time opponents, Division I Harcum College (Oct. 7) and perennial rival Ocean County College (Sept. 27).  The first day of practice/tryouts for the Blues will be Monday, August 4^th.

Men's soccer, who will also begin its preseason workouts on Monday, August 4^th, opens up at the East Coast Cup tournament, hosted by Tompkins Cortland Community College.  The squad will look to make an impact on the road this season, as a mere six games will be played on the Blues' home field. 

The women's tennis schedule features a host of first-time opponents as the Region has opened up to include CC Philadelphia, Northampton, Ocean and Valley Forge. The Blues' schedule bookends with a pair of Region XIX opponents.  Head coach Karen Maclaughlin will host a meeting on a date Thursday, July 31 at 11:00 am in the athletic office in the Collons Arena, with try-outs beginning on Monday, August 4th.

Entering Brookdale's fall slate for the first-time ever is women's volleyball.  The Blues will play four of its first five matches on its home in the Robert J. Collins Arena, before a stretch of seven straight on the road.  Those looking to join the volleyball team are invited to the meeting and to try out on Friday, August 1^st at noon in the Collins Arena.

Men's and women's cross country round out the programs competing in the fall season.  The squad opens up on September 5^th at Garret Mountain, Ramapo College's home course.  The Blues will compete in another challenging schedule, entering meets hosted by NCAA Division I, II and III institutions, while also participating in the Dukes Classic, hosted by Region XIX opponent Cumberland County College.  The men's and women's croos country team will have a meeting on Friday, August 1st with tryouts to follow.
