Bethlehem, PA - The #2 seeded Brookdale Community College women's volleyball team captured the Region 19 Division III East B District Championship with a thrilling 3-2 victory over #3 seeded Ocean County College at Northampton Community College.
The Jersey Blues rallied from a 2-1 deficit to clinch the match, winning the decisive fifth set 15-9 to punch their ticket to the NJCAA National Tournament in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, from November 13–15.
Set scores were 25-22, 21-25, 14-25, 25-23, and 15-9.
Freshman outside hitter Gemma Ferris powered Brookdale's offense with a dominant 30 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Alana Pytel added 12 kills to help secure the comeback victory.
With the win, the Jersey Blues advance to nationals looking to continue their postseason success on the biggest stage.
