Jersey Blues Take One, Drop One In High-Energy Series Against Spartans
Bethlehem, PA – The Brookdale Jersey Blues baseball team powered through a competitive doubleheader against the Northampton Community College Spartans, earning a split with an 8-6 win in game one before falling 12-8 in game two.

Bethlehem, PA – The Brookdale Jersey Blues baseball team powered through a competitive doubleheader against the Northampton Community College Spartans, earning a split with an 8-6 win in game one before falling 12-8 in game two.
In the opener, sophomore right fielder Casey Gardiner set the tone early with a two-run home run that jumpstarted the Brookdale offense. The Jersey Blues continued to capitalize with strong and timely RBI production from freshman DH Owen Parillo, freshman first baseman Thomas Diffley, and freshman catcher Ryan Adams, helping the Blues build and maintain their edge.
On the mound, sophomore Gary Perone III remained undefeated with a dominant outing, tossing 6.0 innings while allowing just three hits. Sophomore Jeffrey Barham came in for the closing to preserve the 8-6 victory.
Game two saw Brookdale continue to battle offensively despite the 12-8 loss. Freshman LJ Santiago provided a spark with a two-run home run, while Ryan Adams stayed productive at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Freshman left fielder Nicco Maribo, sophomore third baseman Anthony Pizzuti, and freshman second baseman Frank Kentoffio each contributed an RBI to keep the Blues within reach.
Brookdale now stands at 10-4 on the season and will return home to complete the three-game series against the Spartans on Monday, March 23rd at 3:30 PM.
