Lincroft, NJ - Brookdale baseball battled through a relentless 10-inning contest against the Mercer County Community College Mustangs, ending in a hard-fought 13-13 tie. In a game filled with timely hitting and back-and-forth momentum, neither side could break through in extra innings.
Freshman catcher LJ Santiago and freshman designated hitter Thomas Diffley led the offensive charge, each collecting two hits including a double and driving in two runs apiece. Freshman Frank Kentoffio added a big swing for the Jersey Blues with a home run to keep the offense rolling.
Brookdale saw contributions up and down the lineup as sophomore second baseman Ryan Tan, freshman left fielder Nicco Maribo, sophomore right fielder Casey Gardiner, and sophomore first baseman Gary Perone III each delivered RBI hits in the high-scoring affair.
Now sitting at 19-7-1 on the season, Brookdale will hit the road next, traveling to Paramus to take on the Bergen Community College Bulldogs on Saturday, April 11th at 12:00pm.
