Selden, NY - Brookdale baseball continued its impressive season with a road doubleheader sweep of the Suffolk County Community College Sharks, winning 12-0 and 17-1 to improve to 29-7-1 overall and 19-6 in conference play.

Selden, NY - Brookdale baseball continued its impressive season with a road doubleheader sweep of the Suffolk County Community College Sharks, winning 12-0 and 17-1 to improve to 29-7-1 overall and 19-6 in conference play
In the opener, sophomore left fielder Nicco Maribo powered the offense by going 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBI. Freshman catcher Ryan Adams blasted a home run and drove in two runs, while sophomore Thomas Diffley added two RBI to help pace the Jersey Blues lineup. On the mound, sophomore Jeffrey Barham improved to 6-1 after firing 5.0 strong innings and allowing just one hit in a dominant outing.
Brookdale carried the momentum into game two as sophomore right fielder Gary Perone III starred at the plate with a double, a triple, and four RBI. Sophomore second baseman Ryan Tan added a triple in his 2-for-4 performance while also driving in four runs. Adams stayed hot with a two RBI triple, and freshman Ray Mulhern delivered a big day by batting 4-for-6 with two RBI. Sophomore Matty Koenig turned in a strong effort on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings with nine strikeouts. Freshman Chase Swietlik entered in relief to earn the save.
The Jersey Blues return home next to host the RCSJ-Gloucester Roadrunners on Tuesday, April 21st at 3:30pm.
