Brookdale Splits Road Doubleheader With Montgomery

Blue Bell, PA - Brookdale baseball earned a split on the road against the Montgomery County Community College Mustangs, posting a 15-3 victory before falling 8-5 in game two. The Jersey Blues now stand at 32-9-1 overall.

In the opener, Brookdale's offense came alive behind freshman catcher Ryan Adams, who went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, and four RBI. Sophomore DH Casey Gardiner also delivered a big day at the plate, batting 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI, while freshman shortstop Dawson Smail added two RBI.

On the mound, sophomore Jeffrey Barham was sharp from start to finish, throwing a complete 7.0 innings with five strikeouts to improve to 7-1 on the season.

In game two, sophomore third baseman Anthony Pizzuti paced the Jersey Blues offense by going 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Sophomore second baseman Ryan Tan added two RBI, but Brookdale was unable to complete the sweep in the 8-5 setback.

The Jersey Blues return home next to host the Lackawanna College Falcons on Sunday, April 26th at 2:30pm.
