Brookdale Grinds Out Victory Over Middlesex To Reach Region Championship
Camden, NJ - The No. 2 Brookdale Community College baseball team earned a hard-fought 6-4 victory over the No. 4 seeded Middlesex College Blue Colts in a back-and-forth Region 19 Tournament battle at Rutgers University-Camden.

Freshman first baseman Thomas Diffley led the Jersey Blues offense, batting 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Sophomore second baseman Ryan Tan and sophomore center fielder Ray Mulhern each delivered 2-for-3 performances with an RBI apiece to help keep Brookdale ahead during key moments of the game. Sophomore left fielder Gary Perone and freshman LJ Santiago also came through with timely sacrifice flies that produced important runs for the Jersey Blues.
On the mound, sophomore TJ Legere delivered a strong outing, pitching 8.0 innings while allowing just five hits. Sophomore left-handed pitcher Matt Desiderio entered in relief to secure the save.
With the victory, Brookdale advances to face the No. 1 seeded RCSJ-Gloucester Roadrunners in the Region 19 Championship game on Saturday, May 16th at 12:00pm at the Rutgers-Camden baseball field.
