Brookdale Sweeps Union In Home Doubleheader
Lincroft, NJ - Brookdale baseball continued its strong season with a home doubleheader sweep of the Union College Owls, winning 12-6 and 7-2 to improve its overall record to 27-7-1.

Lincroft, NJ - Brookdale baseball continued its strong season with a home doubleheader sweep of the Union College Owls, winning 12-6 and 7-2 to improve its overall record to 27-7-1.
In game one, freshman Ryan Adams sparked the offense by going 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, and four RBI. Sophomore second baseman Ryan Tan added a three run double, while sophomore third baseman Anthony Pizzuti delivered a standout 3-for-3 performance with a triple, two doubles, and two RBI. On the mound, freshman Xavier Cortez improved to 2-1 after pitching 5.2 innings with nine strikeouts. Sophomore Thomas Diffley secured his third save of the season to close out the victory.
In game two, freshman catcher LJ Santiago paced the offense with two RBI. Freshman shortstop Dawson Smail went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, while Pizzuti added another strong effort by batting 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Sophomore DH Emmanuel Cepin also contributed an RBI in his 2-for-3 outing. Freshman Nicholas Hardy earned his second win on the mound after throwing 6.0 innings, while freshman Jack Kelly picked up the save.
Brookdale will hit the road next for a matchup against the Suffolk County Community College Sharks in Selden, NY on Sunday, April 19th at 1:00pm.
