Brookdale Sweeps Salem To Advance To Region 19 Final Four
Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Community College baseball team powered its way through the opening rounds of the Region 19 Tournament, sweeping the Salem Community College Mighty Oaks with dominant 11-3 and 18-3 victories.

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Community College baseball team powered its way through the opening rounds of the Region 19 Tournament, sweeping the Salem Community College Mighty Oaks with dominant 11-3 and 18-3 victories.
In game one, sophomore DH Gabriel Tomei led the offensive attack by going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Freshman catcher Ryan Adams continued his strong postseason play, batting 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Sophomore third baseman Anthony Pizzuti added another home run and two RBI in his 2-for-4 performance, while sophomore right fielder Casey Gardiner drove in two runs with a double. Sophomore left fielder Nicco Maribo went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and freshman shortstop Dawson Smail added an RBI in his 2-for-3 outing.
On the mound, sophomore Gary Perone III improved to 8-0 after throwing 6.0 strong innings with six strikeouts.
The Jersey Blues offense exploded again in game two behind a huge performance from Pizzuti, who blasted two home runs and drove in six RBI. Sophomore second baseman Ryan Tan went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI, while Adams stayed red hot by batting 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Sophomore center fielder Ray Mulhern added another big game, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Maribo chipped in two RBI in his 2-for-2 performance, while Gardiner finished 3-for-3 with an RBI.
Sophomore TJ Legere earned the win on the mound, improving to 5-2 after pitching 5.0 innings with six strikeouts and just one walk allowed.
The No. 2 seeded Jersey Blues now stand at 41-10-1 and will face the No. 6 seeded Camden County College Cougars in the Region 19 Tournament Final Four on Thursday, May 14th at Rutgers University-Camden beginning at 3:00pm.
